Emergency Rental Assistance

Supporting Minneapolis and Hennepin County families facing housing instability, eviction, and financial hardship.

Minneapolis Emergency Rental Assistance

Minneapolis residents who are at risk of eviction may qualify for emergency rental assistance through the City of Minneapolis Emergency Rental Assistance Program.

This program was launched to help stabilize households facing financial hardship and prevent homelessness, particularly families impacted by recent economic disruptions and Operation Metro Surge.

Isuroon is supporting community outreach, pre-screening, housing navigation, and tenant support for eligible Minneapolis residents.

Assistance may help cover past-due rent and utilities for households facing eviction.

Who May Qualify

  • Live in Minneapolis

Applicants must currently reside within Minneapolis city limits. Proof of address or residency documentation may be required.

  • At risk of eviction

Households facing possible eviction due to unpaid rent may qualify. This includes tenants who have received warnings or court notices.

  • Meet income guidelines

Eligibility is based on household income and family size requirements. Income verification documents may be requested during application.

  • Have late notice or eviction documentation

Applicants should provide any rent late notices or eviction-related paperwork. Court filings or landlord notices can help support the application process.

Required Eligibility Documents

  • Proof of Minneapolis residency

Applicants must provide documentation showing they currently live in Minneapolis. Accepted documents may include utility bills, lease agreements, or official mail.

  • Late rent notice

A notice showing overdue rent payments may be required for assistance. This helps verify the household’s current housing situation.

  • Eviction notice or court filing

Tenants facing eviction should provide any legal or court-related documents. These records help confirm the urgency of the housing assistance request.

  • Income verification

Households may need to provide proof of current income or financial hardship. Pay stubs, benefit statements, or employment records are commonly accepted.

  • Identification documents

Applicants should provide valid identification for household members. Accepted IDs may include state IDs, passports, or other official documents.
